Chicago Skyway: A Guide to Tolls and Payment

Built by the City of Chicago in 1958, the Chicago Skyway Toll Bridge (often referred to simply as the Skyway) is a 7.8-mile-long toll road that conveniently connects motorists to and from the city's South Side and the Indiana Toll Road. To ensure a smooth and efficient commute, the Skyway Toll Plaza offers various payment options to its patrons.

Current Payment Methods

Cash: For those who prefer traditional methods, cash payments are accepted at the toll plaza.

Major Credit Cards: For added convenience, the Skyway accepts all major credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, and American Express.

E-ZPass: Not Yet Available

While many toll roads and bridges across the country offer the E-ZPass electronic toll payment system, the Skyway currently does not issue transponders. However, there are plans in place to implement E-ZPass in the future, providing motorists with a seamless and efficient way to pay tolls.
